Field Day 2018 Results

Field Day weekend has once again come to a close. Yesterday some of us were nursing that “Field Day Hangover” induced by caffeine, no sleep and over stimulation. We are like when a 3 year old crashes after that kind of a high.

The good news is, I had some time yesterday to compile the Field Day report for this year and I wanted to share it with everyone. So here we go!

One thing to keep in mind when reading this is, we are not a power house contest station. We do this for the fun, comradery and chance to play some radio.

Saturday was supposed to start at 9:00 am but it really didn’t start till about 11:00 with setup. The day started a little chilly and cloudy, but turned out to be just perfect for the event. It stayed cool and breezy all day! No humidity but it did creep up to around 80 for the temp. We got everything up and going by about 4 in the afternoon and started making contacts. People took turns working the radios and logging and as usual there was even some time to socialize. By about 12:00/1:00 AM the last few remaining people were toast, so we called it quits, packed it in and headed for home.

Our efforts break down like so:
