The OH-KY-IN Amateur Radio Society is helping Tristate hams upgrade to the Amateur Extra Class license. Course sessions will be ten Mondays from February 26 through April 30, 7:00-9:00PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1553 Kinney, Cincinnati (Mt. Healthy), OH 45231. (Park behind the church off Hickman St., and enter from the Hickman side of the church.) There will be a test session opportunity on May 5, location TBD.
The text is “2016-2020 Extra Class, FCC Element 4 Amateur Radio License Preparation, 7th Edition,” (“The Gordon West book”) from Master Publishing, Inc., usually available at R&L in Hamilton, from Amazon and Amazon Smile, and through other bookstores (ISBN 094505386X; may not be visible). To prepare for the first class, read on your own the book’s introductory information (not on the test) and pp. 21-54. The assignment for the second class will be to prepare pp. 55 – 88.
OH-KY-IN is also offering classes for the beginning Technician Class license, and to upgrade to the General Class license, on five Mondays from April 2 through April 30, 7:00-9:00PM, at the American Red Cross, 2111 Dana Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45207.
